AIFM Authorisation and Support
- Posted on: 20 June 2018
One of the UK’s earliest Investment Trust companies sought to re-establish itself as an independent fund management company with a new Board, under the recently introduced AIFMD, a European Directive covering non-UCITS investment funds.
Compliancy Services supported the development of a successful application of the new company as a Small UK Authorised Alternative Investment Fund Manager, a structure applicable to sub-threshold funds (AIFs) and similar to a typical UK asset management firm and has supported the firm on an ongoing basis with day-to-day compliance matters post-authorisation.
Following successful growth, Compliancy Services is currently supporting the firm through a Variation of Permission to move its permissions up to that of Full-Scope AIFM, which will allow the business to take advantage of European passporting provisions under the Directive.
