Cookies

What are cookies

Cookies are widely used and are small files that are installed on a computer or mobile device when an individual visits a website. Cookies allow websites to recognise that a user on an individual computer has previously visited the site. They, also, perform other useful tasks, such as keeping track of choices you make during your visit to that website, letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, generally improving your experience, and ensuring that adverts you see online are more relevant to you and your interests.

You can find out more about cookies and how to disable them at allaboutcookies.org and youronlinechoices.eu.

Consent

When you first visit www.compliancy-services.co.uk, www.compliance-select.com or any of their sub domains (the Website) you will be asked to give consent for the use of cookies in accordance with our policy.  You can choose not to consent and turn off cookies at that time or at any other time or you can refrain from using the Website. Most browsers allow you to turn off cookies, but this may restrict your use of the Website and/or delay or affect the way in which it operates.

How we use cookies

We use cookies to make interactions with the Website easy and meaningful. Standing alone, cookies do not personally identify you, they merely recognise your Web browser. Unless you choose to identify yourself to Compliancy Services, either by responding to a promotional offer or filling out a web form you remain anonymous to Compliancy Services.

We use cookies that are session-based and persistent-based. Session cookies exist only during one session. They disappear from your computer or device when you close your browser software or turn off your computer. Persistent cookies remain on your computer or device after you close your browser or turn off your computer.

We use different categories of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary - enable you to navigate the Website and use its features.
  • Performance - these cookies collect information about how visitors use the Website including which pages visitors go to most often and if they receive error messages from certain pages.  These cookies don't collect information that identifies a visitor. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. It is only used to improve how a website works.
  • Functionality – these cookies allow the website to remember choices you make and provide enhanced, more personal features.  For example, they can be used to remember changes you have made to text size and fonts.
  • Targeting or Advertising cookies - these cookies are similar to performance cookies, in that they collect information about users’ behaviour. However, this information is used at individual user level to advertise products and services to users on the basis of the behavioural information collected.

Log Files, IP Addresses, URLs and Other Data

As with most websites, we gather certain information to help us analyse trends in the aggregate and administer the Website.  This may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address (or the proxy server you use to access the World Wide Web), device and application identification numbers, your location, your browser type, your Internet service provider and/or mobile carrier, the pages and files you viewed, your searches, your operating system and system configuration information, and date/time stamps associated with your usage. Due to Internet communications standards, when you visit or use the Website, we automatically receive the URL of the website from which you came and the website to which you go when you leave our Website. This information is used to analyse overall trends, to help us improve the Website, to track and aggregate non-personal information, and to provide the Websites and Services.
