Former Head of Regulatory Capital and Liquidity at Bovill joins Compliancy Services

Posted on: 14 December 2020

Compliancy Services, one of the UK's leading providers of compliance consultancy and regtech services, is delighted announce the appointment of Harpartap Singh as Head of Prudential. He will be responsible for the development and expansion of their prudential services offering and client service delivery.

He joins Compliancy Services at a time when compliance with prudential regulations is high on the Financial Conduct Authority’s agenda. Payment Services firms received a ‘Dear CEO’ letter in July 2020 that emphasised the expectations for prudential risk management and wind down planning. In June a consultation paper was published on a new prudential framework for all ’MiFID investment firms’ – this includes some firms which ‘adviser and arrange’. Whilst the implementation has been pushed back to early 2022, firms are well advised to take action in 2021 to prepare for the upcoming changes.

Harpartap joins Compliancy Services from Bovill, where he spent four years leading their Regulatory Capital and Liquidity Team.  He has substantial experience helping firms manage their prudential regulatory obligations, including ICAAP reviews; SREP remediation; GABRIEL / COREP reporting; recovery and resolution plans; wind down planning; restructuring advice; and M&A due diligence.

He started his career in the mid-1990s as a barrister, before becoming a Chartered Accountant and Prudential Consultant in the early 2000’s working for consultancies including PwC, Grant Thornton and Buzzacott.

According to Philip Naughton, Joint CEO, Compliancy Services “Harpartap brings unrivalled knowledge and expertise to Compliancy Services and will be an invaluable member of our team as we develop and grow our prudential practice and services”.

Harpartap explains “I joined Compliancy Services as I was excited by the business plan and their aspirations to grow and the culture and environment that I believe creates a platform for me to offer a high quality, bespoke and responsive client service offering”.
