Osita's career began in one of the Big 4 Accounting firms. He worked as an auditor to several groups where he supported clients in reviewing and testing the effectiveness of operational and financial controls. After qualifying as as a chartered accountant he then proceeded to do a Masters in Finance at Cranfield University.
While in business school, his interest in the workings of financial markets increased and it became a desired career path. Following an intensive recruitment process, he was selected to join Compliancy Services' Graduate scheme as a Project Support Consultant.
"After an in-depth graduate training programme covering a variety of local and EU regulations across financial sectors, I became deeply involved in FCA authorisation applications for a wide variety of firms, initially dealing with consumer credit clients. This progressed to more complex authorisation applications for small and medium sized investment firms, insurance intermediaries and P2P companies. I also got involved in several internal projects within the company covering development of e-learning training materials, policy templates and compliance audit tools."
As his knowledge and experience in the regulatory space grew, he was keen to become more customer facing, helping clients tackle the operational regulatory issues they face on a daily basis.
"I have now moved from the Projects Team to the City Markets team where I support a wide range of clients in maintaining ongoing compliance with existing rules while helping them adapt to the ever changing regulatory landscape. My current clients include EEA Bank Branches, Fund Managers, discretionary managers and FX brokers.
I have also received regular training throughout my time with the company and been fully supported in obtaining formal Compliance based qualifications from the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investments."
