The Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) has given its backing to a new consultation paper from the Financial Services Authority (FSA).
Called Delivering the Retail Distribution Review, the new paper has clarified the FSA training standards requirements that authorised individuals will have to meet to function in the industry.
Among the measures are details of the standards which exempt authorised individuals from the need to sit the new level four examinations.
Nick Cann, chief executive of IFP, said the paper clarified many important issues in preparation for 2013.
He added: "The IFP will be submitting an application to the FSA in order to become an accredited body and we look forward to continuing to provide value and support to both current and future members as a result."
Comments on the consultation paper are being accepted by the FSA until the start of September, although responses in relation to the fourth chapter are required by August 13th.
