Rehiring 'inconceivable' after FSA ban

Receiving a lifetime ban from the Financial Services Authority (FSA) makes it almost "inconceivable" that anyone would want to hire the person again, the regulator has said.
A spokesman for the FSA pointed out to the Financial Times that anybody banned for life by the organisation is surely not going to be an attractive proposition for companies aiming to take on new staff.
The representative was responding to a query concerning the case of John White, former settlements manager for Seymour Pierce, who was banned from working in financial services by the FSA for committing fraud.
"It is a lifetime ban that sits on their record for the rest of their life. However, it is possible that they could work again in financial services, depending on the person who is hiring them," the spokesman told the FT.
However, he pointed out that individuals such as this are likely to be blacklisted for life after permanently damaging their prospects of future employment.
