EducAid is a charity providing education to young Sierra Leonians, most of them ex-child soldiers from the brutal civil war.

EducAid provides the only free secondary school education in Sierra Leone. Despite that its exam results were 7th in the country last year - a phenomenal achievement considering its students are the poorest people from the poorest nation on earth (according to the 2007-2008 UN Human Development Index).

EducAid has grown in recent years, from modest beginnings, to have three schools and 1000 students. The cost of providing schooling for a student - including teachers, books, classrooms etc - is just £10/month/ student. Despite this resources are heavily stretched, and the schools many times over subscribed.
